The “Rest Stop” for Travel in Kihoku Town
We, as a family, are running a relaxed place near the Kumano Kodo’s “Hajikami Pass” in Kihoku Town. While operating a restaurant (tea house) that offers innovative local cuisine, we also provide bento lunches using locally sourced medicinal herbs for those exploring the Kumano Kodo.
This time, we decided to start offering accommodations to make it easier for visitors to get to know Kihoku Town better. We eagerly await families to use our place as a “rest stop” for traveling, Kumano Kodo hiking, mountain climbing, fishing, swimming in the sea, and playing in the river in the charming Kihoku Town.
Kihoku Town boasts abundant nature!
It’s a convenient location for those who want to trek through UNESCO World Heritage “Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes of the Kii Mountain Range,” including Tzuzurato Pass, Hajikami Pass, and Makoshi Pass. We also offer transportation to the trailhead for popular locations like Makoshi Pass, Tengu Kurasan, and Beniishi Mountain.
Children can enjoy swimming at the Wagu-no-Hama beach, and fishing in Yaguchi Bay and other places is popular too. Furthermore, natural river play in the crystal-clear Choshi River, known for its high water quality as “Choshi River Blue,” is a big hit. Please use Narahara Tea House Nara, located near Hajikami Pass, as your home during your Kihoku journey. We, the locals, are here to assist you during your trip.

Deliver Local Bento Boxes
“Medicinal Herb Bento” and “Kumano Kodo Bento” are like treasure chests filled with unique items that can only be found in Eastern Kishu. You can order them as your lunch! For those who have hiked and plan to stay overnight, we can also deliver the bento to the trailhead (advance reservation required). Please check the bento menu and make advance reservations (by phone) on this website (please note that contents and prices may change without notice).
We’ll Prepare Your Caught Fish
We’ll fillet the fish you catch, such as Black Sea Bream and Yellowtail, so you can take them home. We can also vacuum-pack them for you to make them suitable as souvenirs (a small filleting fee applies).

Restaurant Serving Local Cuisine
We offer meals (dinner) in a restaurant that serves innovative local cuisine (closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays). If you wish, we can also provide a special breakfast prepared by a sushi chef (additional charge). Please inquire.

You can overlook the JR railway line from the window. You can also enjoy the seasonal flowers of the Satoyama.

Barbecue Terrace
You can bring your own ingredients to use the terrace, or we can provide a BBQ set (only available on weekends from March to September, 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM). Reservations are required. Please feel free to contact us for information about the barbecue terrace and reservations (0597-35-0771).
Accommodation Rates
We use Airbnb’s reservation system, which employs dynamic pricing (prices vary depending on seasonal demand). In addition, there is a guest service fee (approximately 15%) that is charged separately. Thank you for your understanding.

Minimum: 4,000 yen – Maximum: 10,000 yen per room for up to 2 people!
